Zinc Ingots Exported From Zanjan Province

ZANJAN Northwestern Province of Zanjan has exported some 985 tons of zinc ingots, worth over $1,087,000, since March 20 (start of the current Iranian year of 1379), Reza Nessari, director general of Zanjan Province's Department of Mines and Metals announced here on Wednesday.
The official also said that 1,752 people work in the mining related industries of the province.
He put the number of currently active mines in the province at 65 which produce some 300,000 tons of 14 kinds of minerals annually.
The province's active mines have directly created 645 jobs and provided the government with a revenue of Rls.870 million since the beginning of the current Iranian year, Nessari further said.
Currently the exchange rate of U.S. dollar against the national Iranian currency is around 8,200 rials.
